Wow! That sounds awesome – you should be very proud. Trekking on the Frozen Zanskar River is a feat unto itself, but to do that solo style would be nerve racking. My first solo trip was a lot more tamed. LOL.

The first time traveler, that’s probably one that could be added to the list. I guess at one point we are all a “first time traveler”. I remember my first real trip. I was definitely scared and excited, but very proud as it was my first time traveling by myself.

I got stuck with a #7 on a 3 day Scottish Highlands tour. She was SUCH a princess and nothing was ‘like home’. Couldn’t wait to get rid of her.

I was on a solo trek recently (first ever) on the frozen zanskar river, and I think I had a little of all these varieties in me..:p. some fear which was always overdone by a lot of excitement. Cheers, it was great..

After a year in asia i’ve met all of these. I’ve also met the first time traveler. the one whose never left his home town and decided to book a one way ticket to bangkok. he’s scared as much as he is excited!

Lol. I guess you would be hard pressed to find a true germaphobe in such a setting, but I think like all travellers even germaphobes have to adapt to their environment (and most likely block certain images/things out).

I’ve met most of these personalities types on the road, but I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting a true germaphobe yet. Perhaps that’s because I’m usually travelling on the cheap, and no-one with a fear of bugs would last long in some of the hostels I’ve stayed in!
