for my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move- Robert Louis Stevenson
Like most we were also chained to our jobs and dreamed of living a life of travel. The 9 to 5 wasn’t really working for us and short weekend trips, or at most 2 weeks out of the year, just wasn’t our idea of a fulfilling life. A little over 10 years ago, we went on our first big adventure and it was an eye-opening journey. We discovered more about ourselves in 2 months than we had in years. We realized there was no way we could wear a suit and work in an office for the rest of our lives! We had a glimpse of traveling forever, and we liked it!
And so, after a few years, we sold everything, got our finances in order, and aspired to be on the road whenever, and however possible. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t an easy transition and did require some clever budgeting techniques, but we made it happen. My wife quit her job, I sold my business, and we’ve been putting some miles on our shoes, and blazing new trails in search of the ultimate adventure ever since.
With our blog, which regrettably we did start a little late in our travels, we want to show you how you can also dictate your own life, and write your own stories. We hope to empower you to break your chains, and inspire you to blaze your adventure; to live a life of travel.
And, if we’re lucky, we may all get lost in the process!

Who we are
Hello I’m Carey, an aspiring scuba diver, novice spelunker and avid adventurer. I have a penchant for always getting lost and have an uncanny ability to always choose the worst places to eat.
I traded in the suit for a backpack and now, with Dao, my wife and partner-in-crime, we are pursuing to live a life of travel. I’ve been fortunate to be able to share my wanderlust with her, as she is my biggest supporter. She keeps me grounded, and on budget!
We both have a healthy aversion to staying in one place for too long, and are the ceaseless wanderers and explorers. We travel to learn, we travel to live and we travel in search of the epic adventure. From camping, backpacking, to adventure travel we hope to leave our shoes well worn and leave no stone unturned, all while meeting new friends in the process!
